東京消防庁では、管内の各消防署に最新鋭の消防車両などを計画的に配置するとともに、災害にいつでも対応できるよう職員が24時間体制で勤務しています。

  Fire stations and sophisticated fire apparatus are strategically deployed throughout the TFD's service areas. Operational personnel stand by for emergencies for 24 hours a day.

　火災や事故などで119番通報をすると、「災害救急情報センター」につながり、災害現場近くの消防署・消防出張所や移動中の消防車、救急車に出動指令がなされ、消防車や救急車が出動します。

  One-one-nine emergency calls are received at the command and control centers of the TFD-one located in the HQ in Chiyoda-ku for the calls from the 23-ward area, and the other in Tachikawa for those from the Tama area.
  The operators dispatch fire trucks or ambulances from the fire stations close to the incident, or call them to the scene while those vehicles are at work moving on the road.

　救急隊指導医は、救急救命士に対する指示のほか、必要な救急処置や専門医療機関の選定などの助言を行います。

  EMS doctors give medical treatment instruction and advice to paramedics. They also help on-scene responders select suitable hospitals.
