  • Age
  • Cough in a child
  • Small amount of blood was coughed out.

If you have one of the following symptoms, call an ambulance.

Color of the lips is purple. The patient's breathing looks shallow and difficult.
The patient was eating something or playing with something in his/her mouth before the onset of the cough. The voice is too hoarse to catch his/her words OR the patient cannot speak.
The patient cannot lie down, walk, or speak due to cough. The patient coughed out a large amount of blood (hemoptysis).
