SHIMIZU Hirofumi
(28th Fire Chief)
I deeply appreciate your special understanding and cooperation as we perform our daily fire and life safety services.
With COVID-19 still threatening the world, the TFD needs to address immediate, urgent matters: overall preparedness for a great earthquake possibly hitting Tokyo directly, for natural disasters going harder to handle and for a complex catastrophe triggered by these misfortunes.
The TFD, with its 18,600 members, expends the utmost efforts to prevent disasters, minimize disaster-caused damage and then create the Safe City. Specifically, we make fire units stronger against all disasters, upgrade the EMS response system to save more people than ever before, make advantage of an ICT-assisted fire prevention system, promote local fire and emergency drills to develop community disaster preparedness, and so on.
Your continuous support and cooperation would help us and be most appreciated.
